More Chassis Done

Done quite a bit today coming along nicely. In these pictures the diagonal in the middle on the drivers side is the wrong way around but its not welded yet so just need to make sure we dont forget!

Engine Bay

Nearly got the engine bay done just a couple more support bars to go in.

Progress

Got ourselves a donor! She's a beauty drives really well for a 22 year old H reg. She's a 2.0l dohc ghia 5 speed manual box. Rear discs are a massive bonus too as we wanted them but thought we would have to source them somewhere else. Need to get diff out to see what it is yet. The interior was cleaner than my car!

 Got the front frame made and some uprights tacked on.

The top rail is not fixed yet it was just for positioning the uprights propperly

Started Chassis

Spent a bit of time making sure we didn't have too many useless off cuts and leave us without enough bar for parts later on.

   

Our awesome cutting machine we named Chug'a'bug came in very handy and gives a really good cut even if it does take its time.

Early Stages

Chassis base laid out according to the book. Still awaiting the bar to get started.

 

 

Engine has landed

 2.0l 16v Zetec Black Top
 

 Looks like quite a big lump but a lot of the bits are coming off like the air con unit no use for that in a kit car.

Inside looks nice and clean.
